After the Lady Jackets emotional victory to open district
play on Tuesday night against Horn, one might expect a little bit of a let
down. But the Lady Jackets came out inspired and played shut down defense to
open up 16-2 first quarter lead and a 32-5 halftime lead over cross-town rival
Heath on Friday night. The pressure defense led to several easy baskets as
Rockwall overwhelmed Heath early and often. Rockwall finished with a 64-25
victory and a 2-0 record in district play.
Nine different Lady Jackets scored on the evening with Ellen
Baker and Sara Williamson leading the way with 13 a piece. Rockwall has a few
days off for semester exams before returning to action on Friday night at home
against Tyler Lee. The Varsity game will tip off at 7pm, with the JV beginning
at 5:30pm.
All Future Lady Jackets are invited to attend. Future Lady
Jackets should be sure to wear an orange Lady Jacket t-shirt to get in the game
for free and meet at the door that leads to the court with two minutes left in
the JV game to participate in pre-game warm ups.
