Fall Season FAQ's

When is registration due?: Registration Forms are due with payment on October 9th. The cost goes up to $60/player after that date.

What happens if there are not enough kids in my daughters grade to field a team?: When this happens we will either combine grades at that child’s school OR combine schools within the same grade to form a team. It is our desire that we have one team per school in each grade, but we know that it doesn’t always work out that way. We will do whatever we can to get your daughter on a team.

When and where are the practices?: Each team will practice once a week at one of our RISD Gyms. Most kids will practice at their school’s gym, but some grades will also be at Williams Middle School. Practices are held on either Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday nights and begin October 18th and end on November 10th.

When and where are the games?: Games will be played on Saturday’s at either Hays, Nebbie, Utley or Williams depending on your grade. Most teams will play one game on October 29th and two games each on November 5th & 12th.

What are the free skills sessions?: We offer two free skills sessions where RHS Varsity Coaches help the kids learn the right skills and techniques for the fundamentals of basketball. These will be October 2nd & 9th at Williams Middle School from 3-5 pm.

I’m interested in coaching, but I have no formal training: That’s okay! The RHS Varsity Coaches will host a free clinic where they teach all of our coaches the skills and drills needed to coach at this level. The Coaches Clinic will be September 25th from 3-5 pm at Williams Middle School, but you need to RSVP first via email with: marc@ladyjacketsbasketball.com

Coaches will also get a chance to see the Varsity Coaches teach these skills and drills at our two skills sessions: October 2nd & 9th at Williams Middle School from 3-5 pm.

Four weeks isn’t very long. Do the Future Lady Jackets offer anything else?: We will form competitive teams to play in the Winter at the PSA in Plano for 4th, 5th & 6th grades. These teams will have try outs.

For kids who are not yet in the 4th grade, or not ready to make that type of commitment we intentionally end our 4 week season in time to play at either Lake Pointe or the YMCA. Both of these organizations offer excellent programs for kids who are still learning to play basketball, but not ready for a super competitive environment. Lake Pointe is especially good for the youngest kids and is a great financial value.

It says my kid will get to perform at halftime of three RHS Varsity games?: Yes! The Future Lady Jackets is a feeder program for Rockwall High School and our kids are a part of the RHS Basketball family. The Varsity players love to see The Future Lady Jackets at the games and we will have special nights where all the girl’s who play for The Future Lady Jackets will go on the court at halftime. We will let you know these dates via the website: ladyjacketsbasketball.com

What does the registration fee go towards?: The Registration Fee pays for all of the hard costs for running the league and nothing more. Hard costs like enrollment in the Rockwall Community Education program, Referees for games, T-shirts, games balls, marketing materials… All Coaches are volunteers and are not paid.

Who is Full Impact Fundraising?: This is an organization that both The Future Lady Jackets and the Rockwall Varsity work with to help raise money. Full Impact Fundraising offers Discount Cards that kids can sell to help off set OR completely cover their registration fee's. The Discount Cards offer great deals at Rockwall area businesses and restaurants. Kids are not required to sell Discount Cards, but it is a great and easy option for families who want to fundraise.
