Lady Jacket Hoops: Lady Jackets Win Overtime Thriller

The Lady Jackets traveled to Wylie Friday night to take on the Wylie Lady Pirates. The Lady Jackets won in a very exciting, overtime game 53-50. Hannah Hughes led the team in scoring with 27 points followed by Kayla Smith with 11 points. The team is now 23-6 overall, 8-1 in District, and ranked 9th in the state.

The JV team also defeated Wylie Friday winning 36-29. Kendyl Pirkey led the team in scoring with 14 points. The JV team is now 22-1 overall and 9-0 in district.

Both teams will travel to McKinney Tuesday night to take on the McKinney Lady Lions. It will be a battle for 1st place in District as the Lady Jackets are tied with McKinney for 1st.

The Lady Jacket Basketball Team has had great players in the past, and we are looking forward to the Future Lady Jackets joining us in the upcoming years!

I hope that the young girls in Rockwall are beginning to “dream big” for the future. As the Varsity coach, I certainly want our basketball team to be successful each and every season. Our goal is to win district, Regional, and State Championships! Even more important than championships is the development of these girls as individuals. We want Lady Jackets to grow in character and to become better people through their involvement in the program.

We hope to see you at the Lady Jackets games this season! I am excited about the FUTURE LADY JACKETS program!
