Jackets Tame Lions

The Lady Jackets traveled to McKinney last night to take on the McKinney Lady Lions in a showdown for first place.  The Lady Jackets jumped out to a huge lead with a 19-2 run to begin the game and led 20-4 after the 1st quarter.  Rockwall never looked back as they led by as much as 27 points before cruising to a 57-40 victory. 

Hannah Hughes had another great game with 26 points, while Alyssa Lang finished the night with a double double with 13 points and 14 rebounds.  Paige Turner also had a big effort with 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals.  The Lady Jackets are in sole possession of first place in district.  Their overall record is now 24-6 and 9-1 in district.

Hannah Hughes was named Sportsgram.net player of the game. "We came out with a lot of heart and we play as a family," said Hughes. 


The JV team also defeated McKinney Tuesday night 30-23.  Megan Grandy led the team in scoring with 7 points followed by Madison Roof and Julia Sealock with 6 points.  The JV is now 23-1 overall and 10-0 in district.

Both teams will play Rockwall-Heath this Friday here at Rockwall High School starting at 6pm for the JV and 7:30pm for the Varsity.
