Lady Jacket Hoops: 5th Graders have a tough loss against NTX Heat

The 5th Grade Future Lady Jackets had the opportunity to play the North Texas Heat 2 weeks in a row. The first game on January 15th resulted in a 2-6 loss, and the second on January 23rd Jackets fell behind 11-18. The 5th graders showed heart and didn't get discouraged. Shelby White led the scoring in both games, with 2 points on the 15th, and 8 points on the 23rd. Macy McCartney picked up the remaining 3 points on the 23rd. Jacqueline Mote and Gloria Drewery had 7 and 6 rebounds respectively during the game on the 23rd.

The Lady Jacket Basketball Team has had great players in the past, and we are looking forward to the Future Lady Jackets joining us in the upcoming years!

I hope that the young girls in Rockwall are beginning to “dream big” for the future. As the Varsity coach, I certainly want our basketball team to be successful each and every season. Our goal is to win district, Regional, and State Championships! Even more important than championships is the development of these girls as individuals. We want Lady Jackets to grow in character and to become better people through their involvement in the program.

We hope to see you at the Lady Jackets games this season! I am excited about the FUTURE LADY JACKETS program!
