The Lady Jackets resumed district play Tuesday night taking on the cross-town rivals of Rockwall-Heath. The Lady Jackets were ready to play, and won the game 65-19. Paige Turner led the team in scoring with 15 points, followed by Kayla Smith and Sara Williamson with 11 points, and Alyssa Lang and Morghen Day with 10 points. The Lady Jackets are now 19-6 and 3-1 in district.
The JV team also won against Heath 32-24. The team was led by Cassie Ross in scoring with 8 points.
After an extended break, the freshman Lady Jackets came back to beat Heath 38-29. Trailing by two going into the fourth quarter, the Lady Jackets played lock-down defense and outscored the Hawks 12-1. The leading scorer was Krystal Contreras with 12. Other notable performances were Taryn Woody with four points, five rebounds and five steals and Hannah Prichard with four points and nine rebounds.
The Lady Jackets are back on the court at home on Friday night against Wylie East: Freshman @ 6pm (Utley), JV @ 6pm (RHS) and Varsity @ 7:30pm.
