The 4th Grade Lady Jackets played the Eagles on Saturday and it was a close game of scoring spurts until the last quarter. The defense really shined in the second half as the lead went back and forth between teams. With the game tied at 15-15, Coach Jeff Cox called a timeout and drew up an inbounds play to go ahead and the Jackets never looked back. Jacey Johnson led the team with 12 points and 13 rebounds, Brette Thornton had 9 points and 9 rebounds and Jada Stull added 4 points. The final score was 27-20.
The Sunday matchup was against the Hoopers and the Jackets jumped ahead quickly 6-0, including a 3 point shot by Jadyn Freeman. The first quarter was filled with steals due to an aggressive half court press that the Hoopers could not break. The halftime score was 10-1. The girls passed it around with impressive assists and all the girls made great contributions.
